Select Board packet – received Friday, April 18th for Wednesday, April 23rd meeting:

•  The agenda for Wednesday’s meeting

•  The motion sheet for Wednesday’s meeting:  this contains suggested motion language and a way to record the votes for motions anticipated by the scheduled agenda topics.

•  An application for a taxi driver license

•  A draft report from the Joint Capital Planning Committee for the FY09 budget

•  A summary of warrant articles with committee positions and speaker assignments to date

•  A letter to the Select Board and Town Meeting members from the Agricultural Commission, explaining that body’s opposition to Article 26, the proposal to re-zone two Sunderland Road parcels – the former Bioshelters site.

•  An e-mail thread regarding the procedure for street acceptances and attendance at the inspections

•  A sheet showing the 2008 calendar

•  An invitation from the UMass Chancellor to attend the Spring Town-Gown Buffet on May 9th

•  An invitation from the UMass Chancellor to attend the undergraduate commencement, for seating in the UMass guest tent on the field

•  A copy of a notice from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission regarding allowing Michael’s Billiards to pay a fine rather than have its license suspended for three days.

•  A copy of a letter from the Massachusetts Office on Disability, announcing a meeting to be held on June 4th in West Springfield to address how to ensure assistance to people with disabilities during emergency situations, such as fires or chemical spills requiring evacuations, or loss of regional electricity due to a major storm.

•  More paperwork for my employment as a Select Board member

•  A letter of introduction from Britte McBride, the new Municipal Liaison for the Office of Attorney General Martha Coakley

•  A copy of an abutters notice from Amherst College regarding renovation and construction plans for dormitories at 101 and 129 South Pleasant Street, noting that public hearing notification will follow.

•  An agenda for a Conservation Commission meeting, 7:00 April 23rd, in the first floor meeting room at Town Hall

•  Notice of a ZBA meeting at 7:30 on May 15th in the Town Room at Town Hall, with public hearings for construction of a cell phone tower at the Transfer Station on Belchertown Road

•  Copy of a letter from the Town Manager to a Bay Road resident regarding a safety inquiry about the intersection of Canterbury Lane, Bay Road and South East Street

•  A copy of the Town of Amherst’s 2007 Annual Report
